NACET’s Mission

NACET is designed to support the creation of successful science and technology-based companies that provide high-wage jobs in northern Arizona. Our mission has three components:

To stimulate technology transfer and new business creation
To help emerging businesses succeed through their critical first years
To facilitate the funding of promising new businesses that create high-wage jobs and produce a net gain for the region as a whole

NACET’s Vision for the Future

NACET has six strategic initiatives:

To expand the transfer of technology transfer and commercialization processes with NAU and local community colleges
To support Native American entrepreneurs by helping to establish three entrepreneurial development programs (incubators) on northern Arizona reservations
To nurture nine to twelve active clients in manufacturing, biosciences, and software / communications / controls
To create 100 new jobs by January 2009 and 150 jobs by January 2012 through incubator clients
To generate $12 million in annual revenues by January 2009 and $25 million by January 2012 as a result of incubation
To initiate a business plan competition for northern Arizona

Spotlight on Jason Baer

Jason Baer, NACET’s e-commerce and markeing mentor, is the senior director of interactive services at Mighty Interactive, an integrated communications firm in Tempe. Mr. Baer has provided consulting and online marketing services to more than 600 clients, including Nike, amp’d Mobile, Pulte Homes, ConocoPhillips, & Cold Stone Creamery. His firm has won national awards for online marketing and Web design; it has also been voted Arizona’s Best Web Design and Internet Marketing Firm for the past 3 years by readers of Arizona Business Magazine.
