Business Assistance » The Incubation Process
The incubation process entails six main steps and typically last 24–36 months.
1. Screening interview: You meet with us for an initial assessment of your potential fit as a NACET client.
2. Application: If we immediately recognize that you needs and goals are incompatible with our resources and mission, we may refer you to other community partners and/or programs. If you are a good match, however, we’ll invite you to submit an application.
3. Evaluation: NACET staff, board members, and industry experts (from outside NACET) evaluate your application. This process will involve an ongoing dialogue; our goal is to ensure a good fit between you and us. An important assessment tool for us will be a rigorous analysis of your company’s strengths and weaknesses.
4. Boot camp: Once accepted, you will be required to meet regularly with NACET staff to review your business objectives. We strongly recommend that you attend our Advanced Invention to Venture program (I2V), a 4-day series of workshops designed to accelerate your development and focus your business plan.
5. Incubation: You can begin using NACET’s consulting and support services to help you plan, manage, market, and finance your business. You may also be eligible to move into our state-of-the-art facility, although you are not required to do so.
6. Graduation. Your incubation period ends and your business graduates from the program.
